What?
Our healthcare programme supports children in hospitals and medical facilities. The hospital environment can prove to be highly stressful, particularly for children under the age of 18. Dealing with illness, undergoing treatments, and experiencing hospitalisation can be exceptionally arduous for young patients and their families.
In response to these challenges, the designed the RED NOSES Healthcare Programme to provide personalised emotional support through the art of clowning to children undergoing medical treatment in various healthcare facilities, such as hospitals and clinics.
Our professionally trained clown artists working in healthcare environments focus on fostering human connections with patients and their support networks. Above all, they activate positive emotions and creativity through humour. As a result, they encourage improved emotional health and wellbeing. Together, they make a positive impact on patients' lives and their overall recovery.
How?
RED NOSES clown artists adopt a range of artistic formats to promote wellbeing in healthcare settings. These include personalised bedside visits during clown rounds, circus workshops co-created with patients, and intensive support before and after invasive medical procedures.
The Healthcare Programme further extends its support to healthcare personnel through Professional Humour Seminars. By participating in these seminars, healthcare personnel gain valuable knowledge and playful experiences that enhance their emotional wellbeing, as well as a new set of skills that enable them to infuse humour and play into their professional practices.
